Bioeconomy’s Role in Post-Pandemic Economic Recovery

A Converge partner successfully presented the paper “European Regions Suitability for Advanced Biofuel Production: Case Scenarios for Residual Biomass Supply Chains” at the e-EUBCE 2020 Conference.

The study uses a four-level analysis — availability, suitability, regionalization, and multi-criteria analysis (MCA) — to identify and group biomass supply chains across four EU districts (Scandinavian, Hanseatic, Central European, and Mediterranean) into 32 regional clusters. These clusters represent the most promising locations where biomass availability, logistics, and feedstock requirements align with the commercial-scale CONVERGE technology.

The paper is available online.
