Growing sustainability through knowledge and community

CFE has developed a standardized environmental sustainability management system for the cultivation and storage of biomass in the biofuel supply chain, fully aligned with the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED 2009/28/EC). Since 2010, we have supported companies in adopting these systems, especially for oilseed crops such as soybean, rapeseed, and sunflower.

The project aimed to equip Cereal Docks SpA and its suppliers with all necessary tools to obtain first biomass collector certification and meet RED requirements. The certification scheme adopted was the 2BSvs Standard 01, recognized by the European Commission on 19 July 2011.

Our system includes a customizable Environmental Sustainability Manual, featuring 10 procedures and 25 forms, adaptable to different company structures. This ensures efficient, scalable, and compliant sustainability management.

CFE also promotes training and awareness to actively involve farmers and encourage sustainable practices. By integrating local agricultural resources, the system supports both renewable energy goals and rural development.

Our work has helped major players like Cereal Docks, Italcol, and the Friulian Agricultural Circle, strengthening the link between sustainable agriculture and biofuel production in line with EU policy.

Care For Engineering Supports First Italian Company Certified for Entire Biofuel Production Chain Sustainability.

Cereal Docks S.p.A., the first company in Italy’s biofuel sector, has obtained the 2BSvs sustainability certification (Standards 01 and 02) for its facilities in Camisano Vicentino and Summaga di Portogruaro. The scheme certifies the compliance of biomass and biofuels with the sustainability requirements of the RED Directive.

The scheme consisted of the following main elements:
