Building Sustainably: The Case of the A25 Viaducts

We support infrastructure and construction companies in measuring and communicating the environmental impact of their assets and projects, with a particular focus on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

One of our key case studies involved the environmental assessment of four viaducts along the A25 highway. The goal was to analyze the entire life cycle of each structure – from material extraction and construction to maintenance and end-of-life – using LCA methodology. The results were delivered in a format inspired by Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), enabling transparent and comparable sustainability reporting.

We tailor each assessment to the specific characteristics of the infrastructure, using international standards (e.g. ISO 14040/44, EN 15804) and the latest databases and modeling tools.

Quantifying environmental impact to guide infrastructure companies toward greener, smarter decisions.

Understanding the full environmental profile of infrastructure assets is no longer optional – it’s a strategic necessity. Our work on the A25 viaducts illustrates how LCA can support companies in making data-driven, transparent decisions throughout the asset’s life cycle.

This type of study is increasingly valuable for companies seeking to:
